Rates
Here's some information on translation and interpreting rates, to give you an idea of the budget required. The rates given below are examples only.
Translation rates are calculated on the basis of the number of words in the document to be translated.
The following elements are taken into account when calculating the price of a translation:
-
Technicity: texts written in a language specific to a sector (medicine, administration, law, finance, accounting, etc.) and technical content (energy, industry, IT, agri-food, etc.) require more research than general texts.
-
Urgency: surcharges are applicable if the assignment involves working on weekends or public holidays, evening work, or delivery of a translation in less than 24 hours.
-
Format: the most common formats are Word, Excel, Power Point and HTML files, with no impact on rates. On the other hand, the processing of non-written content (audio and video recordings) or handwritten texts, translation from non-editable documents (PDF, JPG, AI, etc.), the creation and integration of subtitles or voice-overs, and DTP operations are subject to ad hoc pricing.
Interpretation rates vary according to the following parameters:
-
method of interpretation selected
-
required equipment
-
type of event
Rates are always based on a daily rate, which includes preparation time for the assignment, transport time and the service provided.
It is also possible to invoice additional services separately: equipment rental, recruitment of a second interpreter, transportation and accommodation, if required.
The minimum charge is €650 per interpreter per day.
